Gender-related differences in IgA nephropathy; an eleven-year experience according to revised Oxford classification

چکیده
Introduction: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is a common glomerular disease characterized by dominant or co-dominant granular deposits in the mesangial areas. Objectives: This study aimed to determine possible gender-related differences IgAN at single center Iran. Patients and Methods: All renal biopsy-proven cases of during last 11 years (2009-2020) were studied. kidney biopsies had two samples for immunofluorescence light microscopy. Renal reviewed using recently revised Oxford classification IgAN. In addition Oxford-MEST morphologic variables, other data consisting age, gender, serum creatinine level proteinuria within 24 hours time biopsy collected. The analyzed SPSS version 21.0. Results: included 246 patients with mean age 38.23±13.71 male prevalence 67.1% (n=161). ± SD values 24-hour 1.47±1.06 mg/dL 1753.63±1049.418 mg/d, respectively. Analysis regarding creatinine, quantity proteinuria, number sclerotic glomeruli, percent interstitial fibrosis showed only be significantly higher males than females (P=0.017). Moreover, was (P=0.047). Our that have more segmental sclerosis (P=0.023) significant IgM (P=0.003). scores IgA, IgG, C3 deposited immunological reactants not substantially different between (P>0.05). Conclusion: males. Males also on biopsies. Larger-scale research needed confirm our results.

The Oxford classification of IgA nephropathy: single centre experience.
The Oxford classification for the pathological classification of a glomerular disease in IgA nephropathy was established and published in 2009. Four of the pathological variables: 1) mesangial hypercellularity score, 2) segmental glomerulosclerosis, 3) endocapillary hypercellularity and 4) tubular atrophy/interstital fibrosis were presented as having value in predicting renal outcome in this gl...
متن کاملValidating the oxford classification of IgA nephropathy.
The evolution of patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN) varies greatly, and predictive tools are needed to assess confidently the risk for progression. Although in many studies clinical risk factors such as hypertension and proteinuria have consistently been linked to outcome, the independent value of pathology remains debated. Pathologists have developed a number of classifications over the year...

The new Oxford Classification of the Pathology of IgA nephropathy originated from an international collaborative effort of the Working Group of the International IgA Nephropathy Network and Renal Pathology Society. It provides a new common language to categorizing glomerular and tubulo-interstitial lesions in IgA nephropathy having a proved effect on progression. Although retrospective in desig...

INTRODUCTION immunoglobulin A nephropathy is the most common primary glomerulonephritis around the world. It remains poorly understood whether vascular pathology plays an important role in the progression of IgAN. OBJECTIVES Since very few studies regarding vascular disorders in IgAN are published, we aimed to evaluate the role of vascular disease in a group of IgAN patients, especially with ...
